1. Che Juan Hostel

We couldn’t resist putting Che Juan Hostel as our #1 choice in the city, mainly because the overall design is incredibly attractive and stylish!

“Enjoy a unique place. Connect with Argentine customs, in a fun and comfortable way.”

Without doubt the most impressive part of the place is the rooms. Check out the cool family room that has bunk beds above the main double bed!

But that’s not all! There are so many choices we know it will be hard for anyone to be disappointed.

Choose between:

  • 6, 8 and 12-bed mixed dorms
  • 4 and 6-bed female only dorms
  • Double room w/ shared bathroom
  • Quadruple room w/ private bathroom

The bunks in the shared dorms are truly awesome.

Each bed comes with a privacy curtain, light, mini locker, charging sockets and luxurious bedding that adds that wow-factor.

There are also bigger lockers in each room to store your backpack and other larger items. Yet, we love that it’s possible to keep things like your phone, money and passport above your head at night.

As for the social side of things, the living room is a great place to meet new friends. It even has Netflix, yay!

You can save money by using the communal kitchen, and even make use of the BBQ on fine weather days.

To top it off, there is even a dedicated working area at Che Juan Hostel. The dedicated space has charging sockets, a lamp for each space and is set away from the rest of the hostel to help you concentrate.

For a few extra coins you can join in on the simple buffet breakfast each morning.

One last thing… reception is open 24/7 and the staff are renowned for offering personalised attention to each and every guest.

Location: Che Juan is very central and super easy to find. It’s just 700 metres from Basilica del Santisimo Sacramento, 1.4 km from Centro Cultural Kirchner and 2.1 km from Palacio Barolo.

2. Viajero Buenos Aires Hostel

Viajero Buenos Aires Hostel has some of the most vibrant interiors in the city, and we think it’s perfect for backpackers.

Here, you’ll find:

  • TWO pools (one indoor, one outdoor)
  • A shared kitchen (it’s very small)
  • An outdoor terrace
  • Dorms with private bathrooms
  • A bar-restaurant (Casa Jaguar)
  • A lounge

We love how social the atmosphere is throughout all the different shared spaces. This hostel also organizes daily free activities that travelers can partake in, including walks in the cities and cooking classes to parties.

One thing to note is that although their bar-restaurant serves nice and tasty food and cocktails, their prices are very high compared to nearby, similar establishments.

This Buenos Aires Hostel also offers bicycle rent as the area is popular for cycling.

Location: In the center of San Telmo, in an area full of bars, restaurants, and clubs.
