Check-In and Check Out: The average check-in time is from 15:00 (3pm), while the Check Out time is before 11:00 (11am). Hostels usually offer luggage storage in case you arrive earlier or leave later. Make sure you check if luggage storage is free or if there is an extra cost.

Masaya Hostel is a great hostel with a unique personality, a colorful hostel that portraits the Colombian culture at its best.

2. Spotty Hostels
Spotty Hostels or Spotty Bogota Centro is great and very modern place to stay. The rooms are perfect. They are not big by surface, but they are very well designed layout and have very convenient furniture: kitchen, closet with 4 drawers, desk with drawers and shelves on top, extra shelves, folding table for eating and very comfy desk chair. Even the bathroom has two drawers and the mirror door with shelves. We would absolutely recommend this place if you come for long stays.
The common areas are next level too. They have game room, at least 3 different rooftops, gym, pool (although Bogota is not a very warm town as the rest of the country) and many areas for study and working in group or individually. Lastly we have to mention the laundry room which is the best we’ve ever seen in any hostel so far.
Safety in this hostel is paramount. You need a keycard to get into the building, into the lifts and into your rooms.
Location: This hostel is in the city centre of Bogotá, around 6 km from Corferias International Exhibition Center, 6 km from El Campin Stadium and 11 km from T Zone.

3. Viajero Bogota Hostel & Spa
Viajero Bogota Hostel & Spa is great place to stay and relax in Bogota. Large and newly remodeled rooms with soundproof windows that will give you the rest you need, located just a few steps from the vibrant cultural offer of downtown Bogota. They have a great spa with free access to the sauna and steam room. The breakfast is free and better then expected – they had many different options. The bar downstairs is nice too and they have great food.
Beds are really comfortable with plenty of pillows of different kinds provided. There is a desk, safe, excellent bathroom. The shower area is separate from the sinks and toilet and there is a small kitchen inside the room with a microwave and other kitchen-related utensils. Everything is cleaned on a daily basis by staff. The coworking area is great and the internet is really fast and stable.
Location: Viajero Bogota Hostel & Spa is located in Bogota, in La Candelaria neighborhood which offers a wide range of restaurants, bars and cultural activities. Plaza de Bolivar Square is just 1.5 km away. The Monserrate Mountain can be reached in a 5-minute drive, while El Dorado International Airport is a 20-minute drive from this hostel.

4. Botanico Hostel
Botanico Hostel is located in the most famous, turistic and historic neighbourhood of Bogota, La Candelaria. This house is uniquely known in Bogota for its large tropical garden and the amazing views over all of the city. The house is an architectural jewel.
They have a lovely roof terrace, and that’s a great place for doing yoga every morning. By day enjoy the tropical garden and amazing views and by night fire up a BBQ and get chatting at the bar. The staff organise activities throughout the day and night, too. Breakfast is available at a reasonable cost on the roof terrace.
Rooms have a lot of natural light because of the roof window. Beds are really comfortable with nice thick blankets. There are enough bathrooms so there is no waiting.
Location: This hostel is located in the neighbourhood called, ‘La Candelaria Centro’, named a World Heritage Site by the United Nations. It is surrounded by excellent restaurants with Colombian, organic, vegetarian and international food, bars and universities. Many craft markets, and market places with fries and vegetables. 80% of the museums in Bogota are located in their neighbourhood. .

It’s always good to kick start with a stylish hostel that focuses heavily on co-working and co-living spaces.
Hobu Hostel is an oasis for travellers in Bogota. Therefore, it is on top of the list for best places to stay in Bogota.
This is a top choice for digital nomads that are in need of cosy workspaces and top-notch WiFi.
In a city that is still fighting off a reputation as being unsafe, security is a focus at Hobu Hostel Bogota. The reception is manned 24/7.
The entry to the small garden at the front of the building requires you to ring a bell. They will come and unlock the gate to let you in – even if you are returning from a late night of partying.

The usual mixed dorms are on offer, with 4-8 bed options. Either that or splash out on a homely private with premium bedding. The dorm bunks were specially designed and built by a local steel company.
Suspended from the ceiling and able to support up to two tonnes apparently – I’m not sure how they tested this though and probably best not to ask.
Either way, your traveller needs shall be met with personal lockers and power sockets. It’s the little things that count after all.
Team Hobu really do care that you have a great time. They’ll even arrange for someone to collect you from the airport!
In fact, there’s a free concierge service during your time inside and outside of Hobu.
Now that’s pretty cool.
Honestly, there’s a lot to mention about the #1 hostel. Here’s a handy, concise list:

What about the location?
Whilst a majority of Bogota hostels are in the more busy and touristy La Candelaria district, Chapinero connects this area and downtown well and offers much quieter streets – meaning very little late night noise.
Chapinero was once a very high-class part of town and today is still a mix of upmarket residential property and businesses.
Be sure to ride the cable car to Mount Monserrate for beautiful views across the city.
And location wise? Within minutes of Hobu is a busy shopping street with restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and ATMs available. Bus services throughout the city and taxis can be caught from here.
Just around 3 blocks, you will find two of the best clubs in the city: Theatron y Video Club. As well as bars and pubs as BBC Artisan Beer and BBC Bodega.
Very close, you will also find local restaurants with yummy food. The team at Hobu Hostel do recommend:

This is a sweet little hostel that’s super cosy and offers nice activities.
Not to mention the onsite bar with good prices that won’t break your travel bank!
You can also visit the historical center, La Candelaria, which is around 10km from this hostel. The best way to get here is via bus or taxi. Taxis are cheap! Rememeber to ask your hostel to order a taxi for you; do not jump in any random one on the street. You can also use Apps like Uber – they work well.

The cabin beds are certainly worth writing home about – check out how big they are!
Each dorm room is kept nice and small in numbers of beds, too. Choose between 4 or 6-beds depending on how sociable you’re feeling. Each bed comes with a charging socket, reading lamp & private locker.
Oh and of course; a privacy curtain – very important.
Couples will also really enjoy it here thanks to the deluxe double room. If you’re on more of a budget you can opt for the economy double room instead.
When it comes to socialising, the best place to hang out is the little garden area. This is a nice place to enjoy a cold drink, for sure.
Otherwise you can relax right next to the garden in the living room with a good book or a movie.
We met here so many cool people from all over the world. We played the typical social game from Colombia “Rana” (Frog), had drinks, shared stories and even head out afterwards. The good thing about Republica: Backpackers and guests try to head out to a bar after dinner-time. This way the people who want to rest and the others, well, dive into the nightlife of Bogota.
Also: The shared computers are super handy if you want to send an email home or check your social media.
What about the WiFi? Super Fast! We actually stayed here several days because we had as well work to do. Quick as a bunny and therefore a top hostel for Digital Nomads visiting Bogota.

We highly recommend Aurora Hostel as one of the safe hostels in Bogota. It’s located in a safe and quiet neighborhood called Quinta Camacho. It’s even okay to go out around here at night.
