Though we wouldn’t call this a party hostel, it has seriously good vibes.
Down in the Mint & Lime bar is where you’ll find food and drink deals, a pool table, cocktails and games machines.

Alba Hostel Glasgow – CLOSED
Update: This hostel is permanently closed.
Alba Hostel is a charming and peaceful home located in a quiet neighbourhood in the West End of Glasgow.
The building itself was built 100 years ago.
It’s beautiful sure, but it’s certainly not the best thing about this place.
Without doubt, it’s the hospitable owner and staff!
Important: don’t mistake this hostel for Alba Lodge Glasgow.
Prepare to be made very welcome and at home seconds after walking in the door. They’re super knowledgeable, so don’t be shy in asking for tips.
What else stands out:
- No curfew
- Lounge/chill out area
- Outdoor seating
- Free parking
- Self catering kitchen
For a few extra coins you can opt in for a yummy continental breakfast.
There is a range of dorms that have 4, 6 and 8-beds. The 6-bed female only dorm comes with a private bathroom.
Note: private rooms consist of twin and triple options, no double.
Location: It’s just a 10-minute train ride to the city centre, Loch Lomond and the Highlands of Scotland. Alba is the closest hostel to the airport, around 4 miles. It’s much better than Scotia airport hotel which is around 1 mile away.
