1. Nano Eco Hostel
Nano Eco Hostel is outside of the Hue, but it is so good that we have to recommend it here! You should keep that in mind, that you have to rent a motorbike or find other transportion options to get to some places. This is perfect option if you are looking for a few nights away in a serene environment. There is an old abandoned waterpark close by to enjoy some local walks.
Aiming to reduce human footprint, Nano Eco Hostel is constructed from reused materials. They also try to consume less plastic by providing their guests with drinking glass bottles.
The rooms are simple, but luxurious and clean, with large beds and above average bathrooms. The pool is very nice and well maintained. They even have a piano that you can play on. The views from the roof are spectacular.
The hostel offers breakfast and food that is good, but there are no shops or food stalls nearby. If you’re a snacker or want to eat local foods, bring yourself from the town 🙂
This is amazing, beautifully-designed and very unique eco-hostel that’s extremely comfortable, cozy, super clean, with a fantastic view of the sunrise and lush, green outdoors. If you want to take a break from Vietnamese street food and noise then this is the perfect place to be.
Location: Nano Eco Hostel is located right near the Thuy Tien lake and Abandoned Water Park.
This is a TOP Hostel if you rent a bike or motorbike to get around. Otherwise you might a bit too far from the citadell to visit.

3. a-mâze house
a-mâze house is comfortable, lovely and quiet homestay that will exceed your expectations. The house has very good location with lovely decoration and convenient set up. It’s a good value for money, and the hospitality of the host will delight you. The house was redesigned by the owner, and the arrangements are in Japanese style with wooden floor.
There is a kitchen you can use, and a cosy social area. The single rooms are very small, but comfortable and clean. All the facilities are very clean and the air conditioning is very effective (and much needed in the summer!). It is very helpful that the communal bathroom and showers could be used even after you checked out.
They also have a gorgeous little roof terrace – it’s a real hidden gem and great place to enjoy your cup of tea.
Location: a-mâze house is located in the heart of the Old quarter of Hue. It is just tranquil enough for you to have a good rest, but central enough to explore Hue specialties within reach. Moreover, you will be stunned in front of the Purple City in less than 5 minute ride.

What about cheapest hostels in Hue?
Of course, there are always cheap hostels. Forget hotels! Even the best hotel in Hue will not be as nice as a hostel stay.
We think, it’s not worth it to go with the cheapest hostel out there.
Why?
The difference is usually 1-2€ ($1-2) per night, and a lot of amenities are not included. This can be breakfast or linen.
However, if you are traveling on a shoe-string budget and you wanna save every penny, there are ways to find the cheapest places in Hue.

Simple as that.
