Looking for the very best hostels in Las Vegas Nevada? You’ve landed on the perfect page. We at Hostelgeeks have done all of the leg work for you, so simply scroll through and choose your favourite. This is actually a short and simple guide, condensed to only the top 3 hostels.

Why?

Well, unless you’re all about partying and you enjoy basic, simple dorms, Las Vegas hostels are not the best ones. The quality is probably not what you’d expect of this extravagant city – the quality is low compared to other United States destinations.

Your shortcut:

  1. Sin City Hostel – great for backpackers
  2. Las Vegas Hostel – top pick for couples
  3. Hostel Cat – one for budget travelers

Money-saving tip: Compare hostel prices with Hostelz.com. They compare prices from Hostelworld, Booking.com and others with 1 click.

Of course Las Vegas is the land of gambling, partying and neon lights, so partying is expected.

Be aware: ALL of the hostels in this guide offer a party vibe.

This guide is perfect for YOU, when you…

  • are tired of crappy hostels!
  • want a social Hostel to actually meet people
  • are happy to spend $1 to $2 more for a much better experience

Quick Introduction to Las Vegas

Average price for a bed: Hostels in Las Vegas cost 14€ – 19€ per night for a bed in a dorm. A private room starts from 22€ up to 30€ per night. This is a rough average just to give you an idea.

Prices always depend on season and holidays. Please always check exact rates on Hostelworld.com or Booking.com.

Check-In and Check Out: The average check-in time is from 15:00 (3pm), while the Check Out time is before 11:00 (11am). Hostels usually offer luggage storage in case you arrive earlier or leave later. Make sure you check if luggage storage is free or if there is an extra cost.

Hostel Quality: Please, do not expect great things of Las Vegas hostels. They are not really good quality, and have a huge emphasis on partying (which is great if that’s what you’re into). It might be worth considering Airbnb Las Vegas. Here is our Airbnb Review + Discount Code.

Taxes & Fees: Be aware of the added taxes and prices to each night you stay in a Las Vegas hostel. A tax of around 13.25% is not always included in the price. Also, most hostels in Vegas require a passport for ID, otherwise a cash deposit will be required for the duration of your stay.

1. Sin City Hostel

Sin City Hostel is definitely what we’d say is the one worth considering in Las Vegas – the top hostel in Vegas. For one thing, it has an interesting history.

It sits within a historic 1946 two-story building right on the Las Vegas Boulevard.

It started out as an accommodation complex for Thunderbird Racetrack employees, and later became a hostel in 1987.

One thing that stands out is the eye-catching and colourful design. Bright pink lockers and purple walls really add character to the place.

Sin City is very social orientated with weekly events such as pasta nights, games nights, VIP Limo pub crawls and backyard BBQs.

There are only dorm rooms on offer here. Choose between:

  • 8-bed female dorm
  • 8-bed mixed dorms

Let’s be honest and tell you then that they are very basic and budget friendly.

Each room is quite spacious, yet the charging points are not near the bed and there are no privacy curtains.

Have a chat with the staff about hooking you up with night clubs, free walking tours and trips to the popular surrounding sights.

There is free parking here, though it is limited.

Location: Centrally located to the Strip, Downtown/Fremont Street and the Main Street Art Districts. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops and special events are all within a short walking distance.

2. Las Vegas Hostel

Next up we’d like to introduce to you Las Vegas Hostel. There’s no confusing where this hostel is located!

This is the optimal choice for couples and those that prefer a private room, but enjoy the social aspect of a hostel. It’s not ideal if you prefer to be very central.

Let’s jump in and check out the best bits:

  • Outdoor pool
  • Free breakfast
  • Theatre room
  • Lounge with billiard table
  • Organised activities
  • Free Wifi

Good to know: Only those aged 21+ can stay at the hostel. 18-20 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

What we like best about this hostel is the room choices. They are:

4, 6 and 8-bed female dorms, 6 and 8-bed mixed dorms, deluxe twin, double and king rooms.

Great selection, right? Perfect for a range of traveller types and budgets.

Overall the staff service is good here.

Location: Situated just a 15-minute drive from McCarran International Airport. The Las Vegas Strip is around a 30-minute walk.

3. Hostel Cat

Hostel Cat is the closest to the famous Las Vegas Strip, and the cheapest option in the city.

Once again, this is a no-frills hostel with a basic design that ticks the necessary boxes: safe, clean and comfortable.

It’s a top contender when it comes to social activities and meeting new people!

Here’s how the weekly schedule looks:

  • Tues – Hostel party w/ free drinks, games
  • Wed – Movie night @ hostel
  • Thurs – Karaoke & billiards
  • Fri/Sat – Clubbing
  • Sun – Movie night @ theatre

If you’re looking to party hard, join the 10am pool party crawl and nightly club crawl for a reasonable price. Just have a chat with the staff about current events.

To top it off, this hostel has great social areas including a yoga/weight area to keep fit.

In the common kitchen you’ll find free tea and coffee, so help yourself.

The rooms here are nothing to get too excited about. The main thing is all beds come with linen and each person has access to a locker.

Room choices include:

  • 6 and 10-bed mixed dorms
  • 6-bed female dorm
  • Double room w/ private bathroom

Location: The Deuce bus stop is right outside, taking only 5-minutes to reach the famous Strip.

What about the cheapest hostels in Las Vegas ?

Of course, there are always cheap hostels. But how do you actually find them? When you are traveling on a shoe-string budget and you want to save every dollar, there are ways to find the cheapest places in Las Vegas .

  1. Open Hostelz.com with a full list of all hostels in Las Vegas
  2. add your dates
  3. Order the listings by price

Simple as that.

Hostelz.com is a price comparison site for hostels. They list every single one in the world and tells you exactly which website is cheaper to use.

Another smart Tip: Check what is actually included, and what is excluded. Take a closer look at the location, too. A further location might mean more costs in transport.
