1. HOPESTEL Secret Garden Napoli
HOPESTEL Secret Garden Napoli is amazing and peaceful place to relax away from the craziness of Napoli. Rooms are super clean and well-designed and the kitchen and garden are perfect!
They have a little bar and you can order anything from drinks, coffee, tea, smoothies and pay for it all at checkout. They can also order a pizza for you from some great local places, which is perfect for days when you are too tired to go out. Hopestel also makes their own homemade Limoncello and its delicious!
There is a great kitchen and common area to get to know your roommates, and the other hostel mates! There is a nice balcony on the street to relax on if interested! They have a guitar and a piano there to play if you want, and several board games as well!
The garden is beautiful and a great place to have breakfast and espresso (and yes – they have coffee/espresso in house). The shared room holds 6 people, making it easy to get to know your roommates!
Also, this is good to know – when arriving go to Napoli Montesanto instead of Dante and ask someone to direct you to Ascensore: it is free public lift up the hill leading you to right outside the hostel!
Location: This hostel is close to several noted attractions, around 1.2 km from Naples National Archeological Museum, 1.3 km from Museo Cappella Sansevero and 1.4 km from MUSA.

The team here specialises in walking tours and boat journeys in the bay. Just ask at reception for some options, prices etc.
We have to say, weâre quite impressed with the room choices on offer here.
Itâs the kind of hostel where youâll come across all sorts of traveller types, from every corner of the globe.
From double and family rooms, to mixed dorms and a twin for friends that enjoy some space.
The smaller 4 and 6-bed mixed dorms come with an en-suite for that added comfort.
Though the rooms are basic, the sheer size and lovely big windows make up for it. The beds come ready-made, too.
Location: Certosa di San Martino is around a 25-minute walk, and the airport is only 20-minutes from La Controra. The closest trainfr station is Salvator Rosa station.

3. Tric Trac Hostel
Letâs continue on a high and introduce our third hostel in this guide; Tric Trac Hostel.
Aside from the fun name, this accommodation is full to the brim with great social spaces for anyone that enjoys taking advantage of staying indoors.
For one thing, there is a wonderful terrace and solarium for enjoying the fresh air and views.
Thereâs also a handy kitchen, modern living room and dining area.
Because of the set up, we reckon this is an ideal space for catching up with work and emails.
But first things first; youâll need to drop your bags by your bed before the exploring commences.
Here are your room choices:
- 4 and 8-bed mixed dorms
- 4-bed female dorm
- Family room w/ private bathroom (4 people)
Quirky fact: some of the bunks have a stack of 3 beds, so we hope youâre ok with heights!
A good thing to note is that staff are at hand 24 hours a day, and there is no curfew.
Itâs the little details that really go a long way, right?
We thought youâd agree. So to make you even happier let us mention the free breakfast, board games and musical instruments for you to use.
Whether youâre looking to socialise or enjoy time alone, you canât go wrong at Tric Trac.

4. Ostello Bello Napoli
Ostello Bello Napoli is really nice and cozy place in the center of the city. They have cool, big, roof terrace – after you enjoyed Naples and want to relax – it is a great place to do so with panoramic overview of the city.Â
Rooms are clean and well organised with large lockable storage under the beds. They have free luggage storage for before or after your stay.
The kitchen is on the second floor and it is amazing – has about 4 sinks, a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, 2 fridges and freezers, and numerous electric stove tops. Even better they have a heap of free food such as pasta, sauce, a bunch of fruit and vegetables, meaning if you donât want to buy food then you donât need to. At the bar and chill area, you can also always find coffee, tea and fruits for free.
This is really social place with fun events such as wine and cheese nights, beer pong tournaments, karaoke and DJ sets running every evening. Just note that the third floor is a bar/event space, so locals and students come in and out of the building (hostel space is protected by key card).
Location: This hostel is set in Naples, 600 m from Maschio Angioino and a 10-minute walk from Piazza Plebiscito square, 800 m from San Carlo Theatre and a 15-minute walk from the seafront promenade. What about the cheapest hostels in Naples?
Of course, there are always cheap hostels. But how do you actually find them? When you are traveling on a shoe-string budget and you want to save every dollar, there are ways to find the cheapest places in Naples.
- Open Hostelz.com with a full list of all hostels in Naples
- add your dates
- Order the listings by price
Simple as that.
Hostelz.com is a price comparison site for hostels. They list every single one in the world and tells you exactly which website is cheaper to use.
Another smart Tip: Check what is actually included, and what is excluded. Take a closer look at the location, too. A further location might mean more costs in transport.

CLOSED: Neapolitan Hostel & Bar
Update: Our former #1 hostel in Naples has permanently closed its doors.
NeapolitanTrips Hostel & Bar is a boutique space designed by young people who live in and love the city.
Itâs such a wonderful hostel to start with, and by far the best choice in Naples.
âThe furnishings of the hostel are inspired by the recovery of the Neapolitan industrial area.â
As you walk down the corridors, you can admire the works of 10 young Neapolitan artists and enjoy vintage design.
Itâs quite obvious that the main aim of NeapolitanTrips is to entertain and integrate its guests.
Let us show you why:
- On-site bar
- A games area (darts, chess, monopoly)
- A corner for music and
- A reading area
The bar doesnât just serve up tap beer and wines, but also cocktails and delicious Neapolitan coffee.
Super cool: Play something good on the piano or guitar and enjoy a free drink!
In the guest kitchen there is a beautiful pantry for you to use. It includes olive oil, salt, pasta, rice, fresh vegetables and tomatoes. How good is that?
Another great common area is the splendid outdoor terrace.
The up-cycled design is super cool and it really helps create a carefreeness vibe.
What about the room choices, we hear you ask?
Mixed dorms come with 4, 6 and 8-beds. There is also a 12-bed female dorm available.
If youâre travelling in a small group you can book your stay in the triple room which has one double bed and one single bed.
As youâll notice, the rooms are big and each person gets a huge locker, light and plug socket by their bed.
Location: Itâs less than a 5-minute walk on foot from Via Toledo. The centre of Naples and the port are within a 10-minute walk.
CLOSED: Giovanniâs Home Naples
Update: This hostel has closed. We’ve kept this content here for your information.
Giovanniâs Home is exactly that; the home of Giovanni!
âHe knows every guest by name, and really makes you feel like you’re at home.â
This budget accommodation in the heart of Napoli is perfect if you want to get to know the city from a localâs point of view.
Honestly, itâs worth staying here just to get to know Giovanni over a pizza (which he will cook from time to time).
Be aware that there is a minimum booking of two nights to stay here.
