FAQ
Alright, you should have found your accommodation already. Below we list all the frequently asked questions. Have a look.
7 Tips and Things to know before you go to Sevilla
Alright, you have found your best place to stay in Seville. However, do not run away just yet. We have a few things to share.
Are you tired of tourist guides?
Then this is for you. We have been now many times in Seville, and thanks to so many friends there, we enjoyed a local Sevilla. And here it is: We are proud to share with you our best 5 local tips for Seville and 2 things you should know and prepare.
Tapas, Andalusian culture, Flamenco – what’s not to love about Seville? We simply enjoy our time in Sevilla, when we see the impressive Giralda watching over the city, listen to all the colorful legends, and eat like there is no tomorrow!
1. Book your Alcazar Ticket in Advance
If you want to visit The Alcázar, the stunning palace in Seville (which became even more famous after Game of Thrones) I do totally recommend you to book your tickets in advance.
It is one of the main attractions in Seville. Go as early as possible to avoid long queues.
And of course, the world famous Games Of Thrones was filmed here too. For sure you will recognize many places!
Last time I joined this tour which combines visiting the Cathedral, the Alcázar and La Giralda and found it very informative and well organized. If you have little time in the city, join them.
2. Seville in Summer
If you are like me, you want to travel to Andalusia in Summer. Great idea so far. Only problem is it is SUPER HOT!
You can easily get 45 degrees in the shadow. Burning! If you come to Seville in Summer, make sure you drink a lot and plan a trip to the beaches in the area. I especially love the area around Cadiz.
Or even better, hop over directly to Malaga for the beach or Portugals Algarve in the South.
My personal favorite best time to visit Seville is March and April.
3. Delicious Tapas: Casa Paco
Fancy sea food and tapas?
Find plenty of great restaurants in the street “Plaza de la Alameda de Hércules”.
We recommend you the Tapas place called “Casa Paco” for a local price – order especially the tortilla, you will love it!
In case Casa Paco should be full, there are many other tapas restaurants next to it.
As this area is more a local area, away from the main tourist attractions, you will find some great tapas restaurant for sure!
Address: Alameda de Hércules 23, Sevilla
4. Alternative Neighborhood Alameda de Hércules
This is the local place to get food and drinks for local prices, and a vibrant nightlife.
If you fancy some drinks during the night, this is your place to be!
Also, during the day you will see many families with their children playing at this street and square. Lots of creatives come here as well to entertain and perform their art.
Address: Alameda de Hércules, Sevilla
5. Nightlife & Sunset: Drink at the river bench of Guadalquivir
When crossing the river coming from The Nomad Hostels side, there are plenty of bars and cafés right at the rivers bench. Sit down, have a drink, and enjoy.
And hey, Columbus left Seville from here to “discover” America. It is also a beautiful spot to enjoy the sunset along with a Sangria!
Address: River bench of Guadalquivir in Sevilla
6. Beauty: Plaza Espanya
This is by far the most amazing square in Sevilla.
You may have heard of it already, and it’s quite touristy, we admit that! However, walk around and have a look at all the different styled benches named after cities of Spain.
There is also a park around the square inviting you for a walk. You will find this square in many movies e.g. Star Wars.
As mentioned, it’s quite touristy.
But it’s the one thing you should not miss plus the most tourists miss the green park behind the square!
Address: Plaza de Espanya, Sevilla
7. Sweet: Confiteria La Campana
Be careful with this place, otherwise you will eat ALL the sweets and cakes around. Super yummy to combine them with coffee or hot chocolate.
Address: Calle Sierpes, 13, 41002 Sevilla
