1. Combo Torino
Let Combo Torino show you how a city is only as interesting as its neighbourhoods. Our #1 hostel is a transformed historic fire house that now boastsā¦
āā¦a bar, a restaurant, a radio station and above all a hostel home for travellers.ā
Combo is the place you can expect to find unexpected encounters, and creative exchange.
Just paces away youāll find Europeās largest, multi-ethnic market just bursting with spice.
We instantly fell in love with the loft-like architecture and big, bright spaces around the place. Itās a perfect balance of shared space and me-time.
Here you can choose between private and shared rooms, with 2 to 7 beds, mixed and female only, plus a large loft that can accommodate up to 16 people.
Bonus: almost all rooms come with a private bathroom.
As you can see, the dorms have been created with privacy in mind. Enjoy your own plug socket, free Wifi throughout and storage locker.
Thereās a lot more to get excited about:
- Onsite cafe overlooking Piazza della Repubblica
- Weekly musical & cultural events
- Shared kitchen
- FREE shampoo & soap
- 24 hour reception
There is a great buffet on offer each morning for a few extra coins. Eggs and croissants are included, so how could you resist?
The restaurant menu has a range of food options. From tacos and vegetable noodles, to veggie options and a bacon cheeseburger. Yum.
Location: In the heart of Porta Palazzo neighbourhood, one of the most cosmopolitan areas of the city. Porta Susa train station is just 2km away, and Turin Royal Palace is less than 500m.

2. Tomato Backpackers Hotel
Hold up, hotel?! Never fear, dear reader, for this is in fact a hostel. And a ruddy good one at that.
Tomato Backpackers Hotel specialises in eco-friendly efforts (such as no plastic use at breakfast), and an informal atmosphere with fresh, crisp and bright spaces.
Sit by the bar and chat with other guests, or grab a guitar and challenge your friends to a game of ping pong.
These guys consciously chose not to include a television. Brilliant!
Instead, take advantage of the backyard and grab a book from the well-stocked shelf.
Tip: the covered backyard area is the ideal workspace for digital nomads.
We almost forgot to mention the cafe-bar! This is where you can sip a very good coffee and feel super Italian as you order a refreshing aperol spritz.
And why not treat yourself to a homemade cake or two, you deserve it!
How about the rooms? Choose from:
- Single, twin & double rooms
- Triple room
- 4-bed mixed dorm
All 19 rooms come with a private bathroom.
Find recycling bins on every floor, plus free soap/shampoo dispenser and free water to avoid using those pesky plastic bottles.
Location: Situated in San Salvario area, surrounded by great ethnic restaurants and nightlife. Itās in the city centre just a few minutes walk to Torino Porta Nuova train station and the bus stop for the airport.
This is one of the best hostels in Turin for
- Solo travellers
- Digital nomads

3. Bamboo Eco Hostel
Add a little more green to your day and enjoy the homely atmosphere at Bamboo Eco Hostel; our third recommendation in Turin.
The team here has a seriously strong eco-friendly attitude to go along with their small and cosy vibe.
Theyāre always working hard to reduce their environmental impact.
By far the best outcome of this is what they call their Biological free Breakfast. Organic foods are offered up every morning for FREE, and the tea and coffee continues to flow all through the day.
As we mentioned before, this is a small and cosy hostel.
So with that in mind, the room choices are less than a lot of other hostels which is ideal for older travellers.
Choose from:
- Double room (shared bathroom)
- Twin room (shared bathroom)
- 4 & 6-bed mixed dorms
- One-bedroom suite (unto 5 people)
Psst! The private rooms are pet-friendly and a cradle for babies 0-3 years can be added for no extra charge.
There is also an option to book one of their two private apartments close by. These come with a private kitchen and bathroom as well as a living space.
Location: Itās a 20-minute walk or 10-minute bus ride to the city centre. The hostel is surrounded by restaurants, a supermarket and great pizza places.
This is one of the best hostels in Turin for
- Older travellers
- Families

What about cheapest hostels in Turin?
Of course, there are always cheap hostels.
We think, itās not worth it to go with the cheapest hostel out there.
Why?
The difference is usually 1-2ā¬ ($1-2) per night, and a lot of amenities are not included. This can be breakfast or linen.
However, if you are traveling on a shoe-string budget and you wanna save every penny, there are ways to find the cheapest places in Turin.

Best Hostels in Turin for Solo Travellers?
What is seriously the best hostel in Turin for solo-travellers?
Well, weād have to go with our #1 and #2 hostels in this guide.
Combo Torino is especially good for female solo travellers because of the female dorms. They offer great security, comfort and social opportunities for ladies that would like to meet new people.
Tomato Backpackers Hotel offers a relaxed and slow-paced vibe great for solo travellers looking to wind down. The huge common areas provide the perfect base for reading, chatting and enjoying a coffee in the backyard.
One other suggestion we have for solo travellers is Attic Hostel Torino.
This recently refurbished loft offers a variety of rooms with a total of 25 beds. It welcomes younger travellers, students and senior globe-trotters.
The living space and combined kitchen is a great space for striking up a conversation.
Itās made all the more easier thanks to the central location. Just minutes from the historic downtown, solo travellers can explore by foot and avoid the stress of local transport.
Attic is a lovely example of a family run hostel done well.
