1. Selina Miraflores Lima Hostel
Selina Miraflores Lima Hostel is close to the sea, sand, and sun! It’s definitely a coastal hostel worth experiencing.
The famous Selina Hostels also run a cool Boutique Hostel in Lima.
This one feels like a hotel, there’s comfort and great facilities too. I love the idea of their books all arranged in the reading room and waiting to just be read. It’s the perfect way to relax your body and soul.
Their dorm rooms have privacy curtains and sockets to make charging easier.
It’s a bit pricier than others but you’ll get what you paid for and more though so it’s still worth it.

Let us talk about the location.
Selina is located in the vibrant district of Miraflores. For sure you have heard of this area. It is the best area to stay in Lima. You are close to the modern, coastal areas and walk along the beach. The sights are dotted around the accommodation. Simply put, this is top location!
Also, you should take advantage of the several tours you can book with Selina.
Last but not least, it is worth it to mention, Selina is really a professional fun hostel; not a backpacker place and not a typical Youth Hostel. For the backpacker, we recommend a different hostel below.
This hostel has a slightly higher price tag, and you will see instantly why. There are also many arts and cultural activities and parties & social events you do not want to miss.
Therefore, when you arrive ask at the reception for the daily events. They always change. Keep an eye on the blackboard and be back on time.
Seriously, these events are the best chance to bond and mingle. I met some very cool travelers here.
Selina Miraflores is the best choice for:
- Female Solo-Traveller
- Adults
- Everyone who loves a clean and cool hostel (but is also willing to pay a bit more)

It’s a great place to get social, too.
You can head to the rooftop bar and join in a game of Jenga and sip on a cocktail or pop along to one of the daily events including a free walking tour.
There are often party nights held on the rooftop with great live music and bar games. Cool!
Feel free to cook up a storm in the common kitchen. This is where you can grab your free breakfast in the morning – worth getting out of bed for!
Worried about security? Don’t be – there’s 24 hour reception staff that is there to help, and keep you safe.

3. KACLLA, The Healing Dog Hostel (small, cozy)
So come on, did you read the name and become instantly intrigued? We did, too!
KACLLA is in fact a Quechua name for the Peruvian hairless dog. Their skin is 3 degrees warmer than an ordinary canine, and for millennia they have been used for healing as pain relief. Cool, right?
You should know: The photo is really not that impressive. Yet, the atmosphere and everything around it is fantastic! Do not just judge by the photos; they could easily do them much better, but well. Anyhow, there is a reason this hostel has a 9/10 rating for years.
Other amenities and facilities include:
- self-catering facilities
- Book exchange
- mini-supermarket
- tea & coffee making facilities

As for the rooms, there are 6-bed mixed dorms and 2,3, or 4-bed private options. Lockers and linen are included.
A great way to meet people would be to join one of the BBQ get-togethers. Vegetarian options are also on the menu!
What’s so great about smaller hostels such as this, is that the staff have much more time for their guests. And these guys are at your disposal 24-hours a day.
In the heart of Miraflores, surf lessons, paragliding and calming walks are at your disposal.

Best Hostels in Lima for Solo Travellers
Are you travelling solo for the first time?
Perhaps you’re a female solo traveller looking for a bit of added comfort and security. We’ve got you covered, as always!
Already mentioned are two awesome hostels in Lima perfect for:
- Solo travellers of all shapes and sizes: KACLLA, The Healing Dog Hostel
- Female solo travellers: Kokopelli Hostel Barranco
But you know, even though you’re travelling solo, you don’t necessarily always want to be super sociable. Some people travel solo because they actually love their own company.
As all of the aforementioned hostels either have entertainment and/or organized events, we want to give you a quieter option.
And the Global Family Backpackers is just that.
This family run hostel is surrounded by green parks and restaurants. There is a bar on-site, but it closes at 10pm and doesn’t host entertainment.
Each room is certainly basic, yet has that cozy homely feeling. It’s a great place to wind down in a more intimate setting. It exudes the perfect backpacker hostel vibe that we’ve been digging into every time we look for some comfortable places to stay.

Pool Paradise
One of the coolest Lima party hostels is Pool Paradise Lima.
It is the only hostel with a swimming pool and one of the few Miraflores hostels in the safe tourist district of Lima.
During the day it is super chill, and at night the bar opens and the party can start. Fantastic place! They also have a beer pong table, a ping pong table, and activities like Quiz Nights.
Good to know: Some of their dorms have curtains for each bed, and other dorms don’t. Pay attention when doing your reservation if you want a bed with a curtain.

Another great option we came across Pariwana Hostel Lima.
It’s located in the heart of Miraflores, 10 minutes from the beach.

CLOSED: The Point Hostel
Update: This hostel has permanently closed. We’ve kept this content here for your information.
The Point Hostel is that hostel that offers you events the moment you hop into their abode. They’ve got their infamous Make your own sushi roll event that you can attend during your stay.
It’s the perfect place to have a real good party and meet new people.
They don’t have a kitchen where you can make your own food but they have the ultimate snack bar where you can get something to eat.
The thing about The Point is that there’s always something going on!
