Combo Torino is a 5 Star Hostel in Turin, Italy because…
1. Local Artisans support the Sustainable Practises of Combo
Being so closely located to Europe’s largest, multi-ethnic market on Corso Regina Margherita, Porta Palazzo, Combo is in the perfect position to invest in the work of local producers.
And invest well they have!
Much of their interior furniture has been created and supplied by local artisans, and some of the furniture is made from recycled materials.
When it comes to supplying the onsite restaurant with fresh raw food, they always make sure to buy from Porta Palazzo markets’ local producers, too – yum!
Relax your tired legs on locally made furniture whilst biting down on super fresh local produce, thanks Combo!
2. Fire Station + Contemporary & Functional Design
Remember when we said Combo used to be a fire station? Well, one of the dominant colours continues to be red; a wonderful way to recall the original identity of the building.
Mixed in with loft-like architecture and tailor-made furniture, Combo is characterised by an essential and functional design.
We really love the bed spaces which are ideal for sleeping and relaxing. Especially in the shared rooms where beds come with a little privacy screen.
The added bonus of a contemporary design is that the high level of cleanliness is really obvious!
There’s also no way you could feel cramped here, no matter which space you’re in. The ceilings are high, the windows big and the simplicity of the furniture automatically makes the bedrooms feel more spacious.
3. Unique Rhythms of Combo Radio
It’s not every day you come across a hostel that has its very own radio station, right?
“Combo Radio will guide you through the rhythms of the day thanks to a constant flow of carefully selected sounds.”
Sit in the lounge-bar area and enjoy radio shows as you do some work, or bop along to music as you enjoy a coffee at Cafè Santa Barbara or the inner courtyard area.
Yet if you’re keen to spend your days exploring, fear not; Combo host music events, art residencies and workshops each week that are also open to the public.
So, just make sure you set some time aside during your stay to experience all of these fun opportunities!
Oh and let’s not forget the special brunch menu that’s available every weekend at the onsite bar-restaurant!
The kitchen is open from early morning ’til late offering a multitude of tastes and flavors inspired by the variety of Porta Palazzo market.
4. Enjoyable Vibes for All
A great aspect of Combo Torino is that it’s not just a space for travellers that have booked into a room. The many events and big communal spaces are also open to the public.
“Combo is a meeting place for travelers, artists and locals in search of a space to unwind and get inspired.”
Let’s have a sneak peak at the amenities on offer here:
- Communal kitchen
- Bar-restaurant
- Big lounge (with corners & private spots)
- Cafe (coffee, cocktails, aperitifs)
Alongside the weekly event schedule it’s so easy to meet other people in a relaxed way here.
The lounge/bar area is definitely the best spot in the entire hostel. Simply unwind with a drink, get some work done, socialise, listen to music or read a book… really, it’s so perfectly designed for all of your indoor activities either alone or with friends!

5. Staff that are always available
Combo is ran by young, multilingual people that genuinely care about your stay being a fun and memorable one.
Don’t be shy to approach staff at reception and ask them all about local activities and events in the city.
