They make sure you actually get tours that are really worth the money you are spending. This is something you will truly appreciate once you step foot in Vietnam.
You can also pre-book your tours.
Hanoi is loaded with endless offers to Sa Pa Trekking and Ha Long Bay. But, please note, that there are many offers out there that are too good to be true.
Keep this in mind, when choosing tours.

The hostel-accommodation has the experience to skip the black sheep in Hanoi here, so you can enjoy both Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay.

2. Aiming for Light and Space
NEXY Hostel offers private rooms as well as shared dormitories. It’s the same in all 5 Star Hostels across the world.
The dorms start from $9 and private rooms start from $35. Get an overview of all hostel room types here.

When we stepped foot in to the dorms, we were surprised at how spacious all the rooms are. Some dorms come with 14 beds; yet it feels much smaller.
This is thanks to the clean, wooden design, the light colors and the curtains. Curtains are a perfect add-on to every dorm, and it makes quite a difference to the intimacy feeling.
If you are looking for the private options, these rooms are top-notch as well.

With their clean and spacious design and the super comfy mattresses, you will have a great good night rest. We enjoy the colourful, city-related touch of design they come up with. Just have a look at the photo below.
Some private rooms even come with an en-suite balcony, overlooking half the city and Old Quarter.
Whilst we are talking about design, it is worth it to mention the stylish building from the outside.
The abandoned building was completely renovated and turned into the only 5 Star Hostel in Hanoi.
All that, from scratch.
The property is located right at the edge of the Old Quarter, tucked in between iconic buildings.
The white facade with its orange-coloured logo highlighting NEXY gives the building a striking pop out affect.
Overall, it’s easy to say; NEXY Hostel comes with a clear concept design. Light colors in the rooms are mixed with a playful design in the common room.
3. Location and Design Mix
This luxury hostel stands out from all the other hostels in Hanoi for many reasons.
The location in the Old Quarter is not to beat.
You are in walking distance to everything you want to explore.
This is because the Old Quarter is the number one location every backpacker and traveller wants to stay at.
At the same time, the street itself is quiet and safe. You can have a good night of rest without the drunken party-crowd in front of your window.
This is also important to mention; the Old Quarter can be really noisy at night.
This is great for you if you are looking for a fun night out. That being said, at this accommodation you can have a relaxing good night rest afterwards!
You will know what we are talking about once you step foot in the Old Quarter.
What about the breakfast at this luxury hostel in Hanoi?
Breakfast is free.
They are serving a simple breakfast of toast and cornflakes, and it is served from 6:30-9:30 every day.
4. How social is the place?
Social vibes of a hostel are essential and set hostels apart from other types of accommodations.
Nexy Hostel is a quality hostel, featuring several common areas, so you can connect.
Right behind the reception desk near the entrance you will find a small lounge.
It is packed with seating opportunities and books about Vietnam.
It’s a great spot to connect.
Just by sitting here, we’ve seen plenty of guests connecting and chatting, inviting each other to join them at a bar in the old quarter.
It could not be easier.
During our visit, we also spotted a brand new bar area.
Here they offer drinks, perfect for a night-in.
On the first floor, you find the main common area, separated into two rooms.
The first room is the games’ room with its own pool table and a foosball with a fun painting accompanying it. Do you remember the famous scene of Zinedine Zidane in the World Championship 2006?

The second room just across the hall is perfect for having a drink, reading, chatting and playing board games.
Whilst we have already mentioned some social spaces for you to mingle, well, hold on, this is still not it!
There is a full room dedicated to watching movies.
So, yes, Nexy Hostel has its own little, super comfortable cinema.
Two nerds invite you to read, watch a movie or overlook the city from the balcony.
Last but not least, their rooftop terrace is a magical spot.
It is overlooking the old quarter.
Come up here and enjoy the view and bring your camera for your Instagram shot.
It is important to mention, NEXY Hostel is a luxury premium hostel. In fact, it’s a 5 Star Hostel. And yes, it is a social hub and easy place to connect with others.
However, it is not your party hostel – which makes it even better!

Thanks to the perfect location in the Old Quarter, you can pack your hostel-mates and go out at night to the busy backpacker’s area.
Have a few drinks, experience the nightlife and come back to a sparkling, clean, quality hostel to have a healthy good-night rest.
During the day, I recommend to check out the numerous cafés around Hanoi.
5. Staff knows the importance of details
When it comes to the staff, the management knows how significant details are as well.
The staff are well-trained and highly professional.
It is great to know, that the hostel team will take good care of you.
And even better, the staff members are locals and know the area as well.
On the reception desk, you will find already prepared recommendations on things to do in Hanoi. These things are handpicked.
Also, ask the team about the famous Tours to Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa and Tam Coc.
They will give you an honest opinion on the best options out there.
Personal note: There are a few tours out there, taking you to Ha Long Bay for an incredible cheap price. These tours are not usually worth taking.
You can also pre-book your tours. In our guide to the best things to do in Hanoi, we share a few recommendations of our own.
Our personal recommendation for Ha Long Bay: Head over to Cat Ba Island, stay at the Woodstock Beach Camp and take their Private Boat Tour. We describe everything in detail in our review on Woodstock Beach Camp.
So, here you have it. The best place to stay in and a bustling City to explore. WE LOVED IT.
